Hello everyone!

Announcing the re-opening of What Scent Are You? A sudden and unexpected illness in my family forced me to close my store at the end of July. While I hated to do it, family always comes first and I did not want anyone to place an order I could not fill, or delay in shipping. But, I knew we would be back. And here we are!

Fudge Brownie: The delicious aroma of warm, freshly baked brownies right from the oven. Deep and rich, this one is a favorite of chocoholics!

Winter Berry: A creamy, spicy, berry blend with notes of milky amber, creamy French vanilla, cinnamon and caramelized sugar. This is a great winter scent for fruit lovers.

Sweetie Pie: A charming and delicate scent that balances sweet pea flowers with the light aroma of summer melon and delicately perfumed Lily of the Valley. Our interpretation of Sweet Pea by Bath and Body Works.

Apple Jack & Peel: An incredible blend of mulled cider, cinnamon sticks, and a twist of orange peel. Crisp and tangy, a great scent for fall and winter!

Greek-Style Green Beans

So, how about another recipe today? In keeping with my Orthodox fast for Great Lent, I thought I would share a favorite dish. You can also add in other chopped veggies, such as squash, zucchini, eggplant, potatoes, etc.

Fasolakia Yiahni

2 pounds Green Beans Fresh or Frozen
2 14.5 ounce Cans Chopped Tomatoes
1 8 ounce Can Tomato Sauce
1 Chopped Yellow Onion
6 Cloves Whole Garlic
1 cup Olive Oil
1/2 cup Chopped Fresh Dill
1 Bay Leaf
Salt and Pepper to taste

Heat 1/2 cup of the olive oil in large pot. Add onion and whole garlic. Saute until onions are translucent. Add tomatoes, tomato sauce and green beans. Add dill, and season with salt and pepper. Add the other 1/2 cup of oil, and stir the pot. Cover and simmer until soft and tender. Cook for about two hours over low heat, covered, stirring occasionally. Serve warm or room temperature with fresh Italian or French bread to soak up the sauce.

Old Navy Weekly

So, here it is...the truth.

I am an Old Navy Weekly addict. You may be one yourself, or know someone who is. The person who won't go out or take phone calls on Thursdays. The tell tale dark circles and yawning on Friday. Tweeting and commenting to plastic people (the supermodelquins) on Facebook.

Cute clothes, constantly revolving selection, fab jeans and great prices. Clothes and accessories for women, men, children and even your pooch! What's not to love?

The actual addiction has been to Old Navy Weekly, a separate site dedicated to weekly coupon hunting and advertising the companies Item of the Week, or the IOTW to those in the know.

How many stores offer the chance to win a coupon worth up to $75 off your purchase of $100 each week?! Granted, the good old days of $75 coupons are gone, replaced by the still wonderful $50 off your purchase of $100. Discounts of various amounts are also available on the site each week, but not for long!

As of April 1, Old Navy will be retiring the oldnavyweekly.com website and they say the deals will then come to you. Can't wait to find out how the next promotion will work...but I have to say, while it lasted (just over one year) it was great fun, so thanks Old Navy. Provencial is a delicate & airy fragrance reminiscent of fine milled French soaps. Infused with notes of Provencal lemon, cotton blossom, rose geranium, sweet lime and soft violet musk. Our interpretation of Provence by Clean.

Mystique a dark and sweet base of patchouli, ylang-ylang, cedarwood and myrrh is balanced by top notes sweet orange, rose and lavender to create an unforgettable fragrance.

Peanut Butter Fudge Recipe

How about something a little different today? I thought I would share my favorite fudge recipe, I get a lot of requests for this one. So easy, so creamy and yummy!

Ingredients

1/2 Cup Butter
2 Cups Brown Sugar
1/2 cup Milk
3/4 cup Creamy Peanut Butter
1 Teaspoon Vanilla Extract
3 Cups Powder Sugar

Measure powder sugar and pour into a large mixing bowl, set aside. Melt butter in a saucepan over medium heat. Stir in brown sugar and milk. Bring to a boil for 2 minutes, stirring constantly. Remove from heat and stir in vanilla and peanut butter. Pour over powder sugar. Beat until smooth with mixer; pour into an 8x8 inch dish. Chill until firm and cut into squares.

Today I am spotlighting a couple of fragrance inspirations...

The girl everyone wants to be! Our Bella's Kiss fragrance is a beautiful blend of violet, gardenia, jasmine, grapefruit, vanilla, and white woods. Sexy, but also fresh and innocent.

And, of course, we can't forget him...

You know who we mean, there is only one! Our Edward's Temptation fragrance is comprised of bergamot, rosemary, moss, sandalwood, mint, and amber. This is a great fresh, clean, and sporty scent for guys.

Tall, Dark and Handsome

How about scents for the guys? Whether they choose their own, or we buy it for them, we love it on them, right? Here are some fab ones you both will love!

Vanilla Sandalwood is absolutely not to be missed! A perfect blend of woody sandalwood, musk, sweetened with a light touch of vanilla make this scent an indulgent and intoxicating experience. This is the most popular male scent.

Black Tie is an amazing masculine fragrance that begins with top notes of Kaffir lime, lemon, and ozonic notes; followed by middle notes of basil, black pepper, and cucumber; sitting on base notes of vetiver and spice.

A great scent for the guys, or for girls to buy for their guys, is Masculine Musk . A clean, male musk that is fresh and sexy at the same time. Musk is blended with sandalwood, patchouli, and amber.

Island Gardenia

This is the first scent I fell in love with when I started this project.
I will never tire of this one, it's a classic. This is a lush and
intoxicating blend of tropical gardenia, white exotic flowers and
cucumber that is not to be missed. Our interpretation of the wildly
popular Kai fragrance.

Madagascar Vanilla

A luscious and rich bend of Madagascar vanilla orchid, vanilla bean,
sweet amber, soft woods and musk. The most requested scent. Our
interpretation of Vaniglia del Madagascar by i Profumi di Firenze.

Irish Gentleman

And let's not to forget the fellas, women choose this one for their
guys! This is a classic, masculine and sporty scent with a spicy sweet
blend of french verbena and lemon, florentine iris, violet leaves, mysore sandalwood and ambergris. Our interpretation of Green Irish Tweed by House of Creed.

Sweet Scentsation

Many us love sweet scents, right? Yummy, sugary, sweet enough to cause a toothache...but with no calories! Today I am turning the spotlight on a few scents that may interest those who can't get enough of these types of fragrances!

Let's start with Vanilla Apricot, a heavenly scent that certainly turns heads. A fresh and fruity blend of jackfruit, apricot, papaya and sweet vanilla. This one is sugary sweet and fun, almost like candy! Our interpretation of Vanille Abricot by Comptoir sud Pacifique.

Moving on to Marshmallow. This is a fun, lighthearted go to scent that is great to have around. A sweet and simple delight, fluffy, sugary, sweet and creamy. This scent is a real treat, the perfect marshmallow!

And for the ultimate sweet treat, Fantastic Frosting. Oh, so sweet! Perfect buttercream frosting, this one is a sugar rush with just a hint of butter. Our interpretation of Forever Frosting by Bath and Body Works.

A Few Favorites

I thought it would be fun to introduce a few fragrances at a time. Some of my personal favorites, the most requested and just plain yummy ones!

One of my absolute personal favorites is Hello Lemon Sugar. Such an amazing scent, I personally use it in everything I make for myself. Fun, flirty, tart lemon scent with a note of crust mixed in. A little bit sweet, a little bit sour and a whole lot of fun! Our interpretation of Bath and Body Works Hello Sugar.

Another is Island Gardenia, this is the first scent I fell in love with when I started this project. I will never tire of this one, it's a classic. And the last entry for the day, a scent everyone knows and loves, regardless of age. Innocent and pure fun, Sweet Pink. Sweet, delicate and playful scent of cotton candy vanilla and caramel with notes of fresh bergamot, citrus, berries, muget, strawberry, plum, fig, anise, musk and woods. Our interpretation of Pink Sugar by Aquolina. And for the guys we have Sweet Blue, the male companion scent of Blue Sugar.

Should I Spray or Should I Roll?

I suppose I should tell you a little bit about my products, yes? Okay, then...

Silky and long lasting Dry Oil Perfume Spray absorbs quickly leaving skin scented, soft, and smooth. A blend of cyclomethicone, fractionated coconut oil and fragrance oil. Packaged in an adorable 1 oz. fine mist pump bottle.

Our Perfume Roll On is created with a base of skin loving light coconut oil that is easily absorbed into the skin and creates a long lasting fragrance. Each is packaged in a 1/3 oz. glass roll on bottle.

I will soon be adding washes and lotions, including yummy sugar scrubs and rich body butter! Stay tuned for those...

So, where do we go from here? Let's start at the beginning...

I think fragrance is fun, it makes a statement about who you are. It can calm, excite, invigorate, relax, alter your mood and even evoke memories. Everyone is different, and we are always changing and evolving, so why shouldn't our fragrance celebrate that? Your scent of choice is all about you, custom made especially for you. Welcome and Hello!

So, here it is...and here I am, my very first post on my very own blog!

Hello world!

Who am I and what am I doing here? Well, let's get right to the point, I love fragrance. And beyond that, bath and body products of all kinds, no discrimination here! However, any true perfume enthusiast quickly learns just how expensive this love, or addiction, can be! Especially with the high cost of many fragrances, and even more so if you want to add the complimentary lotions and such to match and layer!

What's a girl to do? To continue with this love of all things soapy, silky and smelly? Learn to make my own goodies, of course! And make them much cheaper, without having to give up my favorite designer types! And soon after I started this journey I realized-I was hooked! I can smell scrumptious and create whatever I want, whenever it tickles my fancy (there's a phrase right from my Mother's mouth).

And then it began...the questions and demands. From friends, family and even strangers! What smells so good? What are you wearing? Do you have any extra with you? Could I try it? Can you make some for me? I must have that! I want some too!

And so I did, and they did. Everyone's happy!
